We were very impressed with the cleaning of our basement after major repairs. Laurel, the owner, was honest and candid when reviewing what work would have to be done. The two ladies (non smokers) performed the cleaning in a very professional and efficient manner. The repairs caused a lot of dust, some of which was embedded onto the wall and floor causing a dull finish to the linoleum; all of the dust and dirt were cleaned. The shine returned to the linoleum. Articles and boxes, some quite heavy, that were in the way of the cleaning were removed and, once the cleaning was done, all were placed neatly on shelves. We could not have expected more.

I’m a single guy with a 1 bedroom flat in a house. I have used Rent-A-Wife several times in the past, always with good results. Usually I call last minute so have had several different cleaners. Kris, the owner has been friendly and helpful and asked the right questions as to what I am needing. The last time, I had Ava who I didn’t meet, but I left a key for her with a neighbour.
I have 3 cats that shed copious amounts of fur and dirty footprints everywhere (they go outdoors, in and out, constantly). There was a bit of clutter which needed to be organized in order to clean.
I am writing this recommendation because everything on the list was completed – vacuuming, floor washing, dusting, bathroom sink and toilet, kitchen counters, stovetop, fridge doors including dirty magnetic seals, and wiping down window ledges.
I arrived home at the end of the day to find my place peaceful and calm and spotless. Even the dirty light switches in the kitchen & bathroom had been cleaned as well as the outside glass on the aquarium (paw prints due to one curious cat). The clutter had been organized and many things put back where they belong. The skittish cat was sleeping in her favourite spot on the back of the sofa.
I would recommend Rent-A-Wife because I feel like I can trust that what I have requested will be completed, and always with excellent results. I have enough stress in my life with long work days and when I find people that can reduce my stress, I am a happy camper. 10 out of 10!

This was my first time hiring someone to clean my home. I was unsure and I like you, came to Homestars to find someone based on reviews. I called Rent-A-Wife (despite my dislike for the company name) and I’m so glad I did. We arranged for Ava to come to my house two days later. Just in time for guests arriving the following day. Ava was great! I asked her to give my kitchen and bathroom some love and it looked like it did when we moved in 5 years ago. It was long over due and she took the time and paid extra care to what I needed to be done. I paid up front over the phone so I was able to leave Ava to do what she does well. She was pleasant and I’m absolutely going to call again to have them help me out when it gets away from me.

Laurel and her team have cleaned our house several times over the last few months, and I continue to be impressed. Laurel is responsive, professional, flexible and committed to doing a fantastic job! I grew up in a household that was spotless, because my mother was relentlessly cleaning the house. I never liked cleaning because it would never be up to her standards, she would go into hospitals and stay they were filthy. I hired Rent-A-Wife to do a deep clean of my house as it hadn’t been deeply cleaned in many years. When I returned after the cleaning I was amazed because not only did the house look like my mother had cleaned it all of my knickknacks were exactly where they belong. Other then the dust being gone I would have never know that anyone was in the house. I would like to add that, I have a lot of small items in my house and every single item so exactly where it belongs. I then had them back for a second cleaning, a month or so after, this time just a maintenance clean but still the same great service and attention to detail. I have and will recommend this to anyone, as they really do a great job.

I just moved into an absolutely filthy house (seriously, probably the dirtiest I’ve ever been in) and rent-a-wife came to the rescue! Within 7 hours they had transformed it into a clean, livable, lovely place to be in. A hard working team of three, well organized, working very hard from start to finish. A refrigerator tempered glass panel was accidentally broken, and it was replaced, no questions asked. Maybe a bit pricier, but it was well worth it.

We had a lot of construction dust in our house after renovating and despite our family’s own efforts, it needed a serious cleaning. We were suffering from allergies from all the dust, that got worse when we cleaned. Owner Laurel was recommended by my contractor. She is very professional and was helpful in scheduling cleaning as soon as possible. We have had the opportunity to work with 3 or 4 different cleaners over the years and each one has been very hard working, reliable and very pleasant to deal with. Polly has done an excellent job in the past, and during the past year we have been working with Stephanie. I cannot say enough about how hard Stephanie worked – Dad’s house was shining when she was finished. She always did everything that we asked and many times went above and beyond what was required. She is a very pleasant person and was very respectful, polite and kind when dealing with my Dad and with me.

Clearly loved to clean and she was thorough, professional, efficient and meticulous with a great eye for the usually overlooked spots and really attentive to details. We have used a number of cleaning services and none of them compare to the quality of service that I received from Rent a Wife. We needed a deep clean before staging our home and the cleaners made our place sparkle. They were meticulous, courteous and above all, took immense pride in their work. The cleaners were scrubbing this place down to a toothbrush and even managed to remove tile grout from our kitchen that had built up over several years. Four floor house required top to bottom cleaning to prepare for sale. Fully equipped crew arrived promptly for 2 sessions, including furnace and storage rooms, period reception rooms, antique fixtures, very high ceilings, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Also swept patio and carport of winter debris, scrubbed exterior entrance. Efficient crew was willing to clean and/or tidy whatever was asked. Would definitely recommend.

I have been using Rent-a-Wife to clean my home on a bi-weekly basis for the past three months. With so many cleaning service companies available, it was quite overwhelming to decide on any particular one. After perusing the reviews on HomeStars, I decided to give Rent-a-Wife a try.

I have personally found it difficult to trust a stranger to be in my house unsupervised, but I have since become comfortable with them alone in my home as they have always treated my place with respect. They also do a stellar job with the cleaning, so that I never have to worry about scrutinizing their work when they are finished. As a client service provider myself, I have come to adopt high standards and expectations when it comes to the delivery of services. Having been on both ends in this industry, I truly appreciate exceptional service when I experience it myself.

My rent-a-wife server was a Rockstar! Everything I could have asked for, and more. She set out all my prepared food and heated and served my hot appetizers. She made beautiful platters, cheese trays, Charcuterie boards, vegetable trays and dessert trays. She served my guests like they were family. My kitchen was completely clean at the end of my party. My usual cleaner who does not belong to a professional cleaning service did not show up or reschedule the cleaning appointment … just a few days before Christmas holiday guests arrived. This was on a Friday! I contacted this company via Facebook and had an excellent house cleaner in Monday morning at 11am. Judy the cleaner did an excellent job and was extremely friendly and professional. Also the rates are very reasonable and I payed via e-transfer so very convenient!! Would highly recommend this professional company due to dependability and excellent work!

Rent-a-wife was a simple solution to a big problem – working longer hours for a month meant that I was very behind on the house, and it was feeling overwhelming. This service was very easy to arrange, the ladies who came to my house were lovely; they got on with things immediately without needing lots of direction and I didn’t have any concerns about leaving them to let themselves out when they were finished. They were also great with my pets (2 cats and a dog!). On price they seemed a little cheaper than some of the major competitors. I will definitely use them again.

Cleaning lady sent by Kris saved the day! She showed up right on time, worked fast and efficiently, and left my place sparkling clean. I’ll definitely be contacting her the next time my place needs some shine.
